В момент адаптации экономики на капиталистическим отношениям были введены технические условия, целью которых стало регламентировать выпуск продукции, что не попадали под действие ГОСТов. ТУ прописываются компаниями-изготовителями и являются их имуществом. Параметры, установленные техническими условиями, не могут противоречить непременным требованиям ГОСТов, распространяющихся на конкретную изделия. Обычно, технические условия представляют собой конкретизацию к государственным стандартам.
